I just wanted to wish all my beloved lovelies, a very Merry Christmas! I really am so thankful to all of you for being a part of my life and for being there for me this year. I wouldn't have made it out without your love and support and just being a shoulder to lean on when times got tough. I don't think I can ever repay you all for the kindess you've shown me. You all are just amazing! <3

I come bearing a link. A link to one of MY favourite holiday movies ever. You all know it. IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE. I found a YouTube link that's divided into 14 parts. I put it in a playlist that can be found here. It's the colourized version of the film. I know some of you are like, "ehh, black and white - borrrring!" so I thought, well why not this year share the colour version. It's just as fantastic and if watching the colour version gives you more reason to watch, then so be it!

PLAYLIST HERE

So Merry Christmas to all! I wish you so much love, joy and happiness! :)

I don't read a lot of fic because I don't many that I like. I read a nice little Merlin related story that was nice but I hate hate hate when people write a fic in the time period is set and then the characters talk like they are from modern times. At least put the effort in to kind of make the dialogue fit in with the time period.
I half expected the person to write something like...
"Yo, Arthur, what up bro?" Merlin said as he entered the room.

You know what I mean? Also, please please please don't substitute "Gana" for "Morgana". It just ain't right! and irritating at that. Thank goodness it was just one shot. If it had been more I wouldn't have read the rest of the story.

I've come to the conclusion that "Sins of the Father" is the best episode of Merlin ever. Morgause comes into Camelot and kicks ass. She makes a connection with Morgana. Then you have Arthur finding out the truth about his birth and Merlin stepping in to stop the patricide. Merlin now knows the truth about Arthur's birth. The best scenes where when Merlin/Arthur went to see Morgause and then the scene between Arthur and Uther when Arthur is like "PICK...IT UP"
I love it.

01. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper.

02. Real tree or artificial? Real! We had an artificial tree when I was growing up because we lived in a small apartment but when we moved to a bigger place my brother and I convinced my mom to let us get a real tree. It's been that way for about 20 years (GOD I FEEL OLD!!)

Day 21 → A recipe

...You'd think this would be easy to narrow down, because, um, hi! Have you met me? I don't cook. LMAO

[info]celtic_fish and I were batting around ideas like, "how to boil water," and "this is how I like my sundae" ("might be good info for me to have." -- yeah, okay, Fishie... LOL), and "how to make a rum and coke" (LMAO), and even the old stand-by, "my best friend is an idiot, and this is how you make mac n' cheese" (her suggestion, not mine, jsyk)... But yeah, in the end, I really figured that I should post recipes of things I've actually baked (and survived to tell about it).

...Here's the thing. I could only find one of my recipes. OH GOD.

So, that's where the Internets come in. Don't you guys feel lucky???

ANYWAY.

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me.

This offer does have some restrictions so please read:

- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.
- What I create will be just for YOU. You can feel free to leave hints or make a request, and I'll do what I can (within reason.)
- It will be done before 2011.
- It might be cookies, a mix cd, a necklace, an original haiku, a scarf, who knows!
- You'll need to PM me your mailing address if you're one of the first 5 (unless I already have it, of course.) In return, all you need to do is repost this on your LJ and offer to make 5 things for 5 other people.

Okay, let's be honest here folks...what I can give you will defintely be interesting. Maybe a fic, a mix CD, a lock of my hair in a pretty locket (kidding!), cookies, silly card I make out of work supplies. Don't worry...it will all be legal-ish.

I finally published my latest Newsvine article today and yeah, it's long overdue. I just got distracted (I've been watching DEXTER - do you really blame me?) and it's the Christmas season so blaaah! Sure the article is late now and there's like, 3 days left till Christmas so it's not in tune with the 12 days leading up to the event but ehhh. At least it's out there huh?

Also, if you'd like to check out last year's article on The 12 Days of Christmas...Music, you can check that out over here and if you've got a Newsvine account, drop a comment and vote hmm? :)

The 12 Days of Christmas...Movies

The beauty of film is that it affects each and every one of us in many different ways. During the holidays, it's no different. The way snowflakes float through the air on a cold, crisp night; the way the Christmas tree glows from a far or simply the way baked goods smell sweet and warm throughout the house, Christmas films give off a heartwarming and tender affect for the holidays. Watching festive movies with the family and friends somewhat becomes tradition and gives us an escape.
